The fact that we as a company have had intellectual property stolen from us is in part our fault for trusting too much, and allowing too many outsiders in that shouldn't have been. Only people that want to rub a rock against a flint to start an intense fyre of distaste and depart us from our just rewards is the forefront of crap, that, I'd just asoon forget and sidestep. Thing is, Highway Hooker is great and continues to already be our parent company, but on the surface, its far from prime time. I stressed over this early this morning after reviewing so many outfits online that have tried to duplicate our company and this bog/radio show’s name, mainly Highway Hooker. First of all know this there will be some calls made to request nicely but firmly they discontinue the use of our names. Be it Highway Hooker Towing, Highway Hooker Radio, Heavy Hooker Towing, etc. But it amazes me all the while, for every jerk that ridiculed our companies names or subsidiaries names, that they copy the name and try to make money off of it. From Road Resque Towing of Boise, to others its hey, pay up friends or shut up. However you can bet your next inspection that b4 I give up my current handles I use to light our candles, those names WILL BE COPYRIGHTED as well as filed as registered trademarks. It never fails , open your email and you find spam. Stupid ads that you can but then are not always spam, or some that are generated through harvesting your name or companies name, that you think might be from one of your people, yet contain drive by malware or worse. Case-n-Point , my hotmail account gets this the worst. Once by some idiotic teen somewhere in Africa or someplace, got a FaceBook account in my screen name yet is not me. Not unless I grew tits and a twat. Yet I never got a confirmation notice , yet a notice that , that account has activity yet its not my activity. Ever try to call FaceBook on the phone and say you messed up? Google has problems when changing passwords. If you change passwords, everything gets wiped out, so I purtty much leave that one alone. MSN's hotmail is a bit more forgiving but not by much, even then there is not much , short of getting an attorney involved no phone in help desk. In today's landscape its all too easy for those not in love with us as towing pros to find a way to get rich suing us. It only takes one mishap to grab your ass and it can mean loosing the whole operation. I will not sit here and tell you all things are preventable. There are times something you do can really mess up. Even with extreme caution and constant inspections, tow trucks are mechanical, things can break, likewize some idiot can cause you to turn or exceed the limits of your equipment. So yes things can go bad. But if a customer's ride slydes, if your hit, or you cause a real problem , just to get back home where its warm, the damage from legal issues can wipe you out. Even if you win the initial complaint, the costs of litigation can really take a serious byte out of profits. Or get you taken off of a important rotation list.
